Nualtra – The Dietitian Café

The brief

Nualtra, the fastest-growing medical nutrition company in the UK and Ireland, needed an innovative way to engage their target audience of dietitians. Nualtra wanted to be seen as the most trusted provider of medical nutrition, putting patients first and delivering unrivalled solutions and better value to health and care providers.

Our approach

We proposed launching a podcast, The Dietitian Café, as a way to cut through and engage with the audience in an innovative way.

Hosted by registered dietitian Harriet Smith, we created content for healthcare professionals featuring a wide variety of guests. Guests included supermarket nutritionist Dr Emma Williams, the Chief Executive and Chairman of the British Dietetic Association, Andy Burman and Caroline Bovey. Two episodes a month are released, one as an interview episode and the other a big dietetic debate.

We developed the strategy behind the content, refreshing it every six months to keep the content fresh and engaging. We also build the timeline, topics of conversation, source the guests, as well as recording and editing the content and uploading to the broadcast platform.

Following the success of the Dietitian Café, we launched a sister podcast, the Dietitian Café #RD2b. This podcast was targeted towards student dietitians and will be hosted by a different student dietitian each year.

We supported this launch with content for Nualtra’s social media channels and sourced student hosts. Together with Nualtra, we shortlisted candidates and interviewed the potential hosts. We also work with the student hosts to develop the strategy for this podcast, complete with episode outlines, titles and guests, and provide training and onboarding for the student host.

The results

  • Now one of the most established podcasts for the dietitian industry with over 50 episodes
  • We led the way as one of the first dietitian industry podcasts
  • It has been streamed over 37K times
  • The most popular episode of the Dietitian Café has 1,250 plays, this is 10% of the dietitian workforce  
  • Glowing 5* reviews on Apple and Spotify
  • In its first year, the Dietitian Café #RD2b has been played over 1000 times
