Founded in December 2019 by Registered Dietitian Harriet Smith, HRS Communications seeks to produce evidence-based content and deliver impactful campaigns for food, nutrition and medical nutrition brands nationally.
HRS was born out of a desire to connect brands with highly qualified nutrition experts who are excellent communicators...
Whilst working for several London-based PR and marketing firms, Harriet noticed that food brands wanted to be viewed as credible, but didn’t know who to turn to for accurate and evidence-based information on nutrition and health.
“Food brands are often unaware of the importance of working with Registered Dietitians and Registered Nutritionists to ensure that their content is scientifically accurate and compliant with industry regulations. There is a lack of awareness of our small profession, plus it’s hard to compete with prominent (unregulated) nutrition voices on social media” says Harriet Smith.
When it comes to credible and trusted nutrition advice, Registered Dietitians and Registered Nutritionists are the experts. They use the most up-to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease which they translate into practical guidance to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices. They are evidence-based professionals who are registered with statutory regulators (such as the Health and Care Professions Council) and/or professional bodies (such as the British Dietetic Association and the Association for Nutrition).
At HRS Communications, our team of Registered Dietitians and Registered Nutritionists are leading experts in their respective fields. We have a small but skilled team which includes (but isn’t limited to) oncology, paediatric, weight management, diabetes and gut health dietitians as well as Registered Nutritionists specialising in public health, recipe development and health and nutrition claims. All of our team members have strong communications skills, meaning they’re well-placed to be writing about these topics.
We’re specialists in nutrition communications with over 50 years of combined experience. We’ve spent years translating complex scientific concepts into easy-to-understand messages for a variety of audiences. At HRS Communications, we offer five main services: content strategy, content creation, copywriting, EU health and nutrition claims support and healthcare professional outreach. We offer these as standalone services, although most of our food and nutrition clients want an all-encompassing service which covers all five aspects.
For example, one of our clients is launching a new food product to the UK market. HRS Communications is able to help with product positioning, nutrition communications strategy, content creation and copywriting, and marketing campaigns for consumers and HCPs.
We guide our client every step of the way to ensure that the process is smooth and streamlined.
HRS Communications has come a long way over the past six months. We’ve grown our team from one to ten, not to mention coped with a global pandemic. We’re busier than ever before, having just taken on three new clients in August, and September looks set to be our busiest month yet.
Here’s to the next six months!
